Tell us about yourself
I recently got married to my wonderful husband Erik and moved to New Jersey after the wedding. Prior to the move, I was able to teach at a Christian school in Maryland. I also had the opportunity to teach at Black Forest Academy in Germany. I am an alumni of Nyack College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I love sports and enjoy cheering for the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles. In my spare time, you will find me reading a book at Chick Fil A.
Tell us the story about how God brought you to work at EC
I moved to New Jersey in December not knowing anything about the schools in the area. I began praying that God would lead me to a Christian school that could become my family. I heard many people recommend applying to Eastern Christian. In January, I was hired to work in the 4th grade Owl’s Nest and teach 11th grade English 3 for the remainder of last school year. Beginning this year, I am back to 3rd grade and could not be any happier!
What sets EC apart? Why Eastern Christian School?
I have grown up in Christian education. The families, teachers, and administration truly did become my family, and that is exactly what I was looking for when I began my journey as an educator. Christian education is so important to me, and walking into Eastern Christian, I can feel and see that God is at the center of the school. The families and teachers at Eastern have welcomed me, helped me, and prayed for me. I love listening to my students singing praises in chapel and in our classroom. I enjoy how we can openly and freely pray for each other. It is beautiful listening to my students pray for each other! Eastern Christian exhibits God’s love partnering with parents to equip the students for a life of discipleship.
